Pricing questions
What does the free plan include?
One scan. It is a trial rather than a tier — enough to point the camera at something in your own kitchen and see the real result, including the full nutrition panel and every macro. There is no second paywall inside a scan: the free one shows exactly what a subscriber sees.
Why is scanning not free?
Every scan costs us an upstream call. A barcode lookup hits a live food database; a photo scan goes to an AI vision model that charges per image. Those are real per-use costs, and a subscription is the honest way to cover them rather than selling your food diary to advertisers.
Do I need a card for the free scan?
No. You sign in with Google and scan. Payment details are only asked for if you choose a subscription.
Is the yearly plan really cheaper?
Yes — $59.99 a year against $239.88 if you paid monthly for twelve months, so it is a 75% saving and works out at $5.00 a month. All three plans are the same unlimited product; only the billing period differs.
What is the difference between the weekly, monthly and yearly plans?
Only how often you are billed. Every plan is the same unlimited scanning, with all macros and full history — there is no feature held back on the cheaper ones. Judged over a year the weekly plan is by far the most expensive, at about $415 against $59.99 for the yearly, so it only makes sense if you want to track for a short stretch rather than keep a habit.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from your account page, which opens Stripe's own billing portal. Cancelling stops the next charge rather than cutting off access you have already paid for, and your scan history stays readable and exportable afterwards.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Nothing is locked. Your scan history and diary stay visible and exportable — we do not retroactively paywall data you already created. You simply return to the free plan for new scans.
Can I delete my account and everything in it?
Yes, from the account page, without emailing anyone. It removes your account, your scan history and your diary, and cancels any active subscription first. If the cancellation fails, nothing is deleted — you are never left with a deleted account and a live charge.
Do you show adverts or sell my data?
Neither. The subscription is the entire business model. A food diary is a detailed behavioural record and it is not for sale.
